July 2026 - a new early years classroom in Bhagyodaya School
In July 2026 we installed a new early years classroom in Bhagyodaya School in Sankhu district on the outskirts of Kathmandu. The installation includes training for teachers in Grade 1 – 5. Head teacher Mr. Rusan Basi is very much grateful for EYE Nepal's support and thankful to the EYE Nepal donors for fulfilling his dream of creating a better classroom.
Pancha Devi Basic School
We have recently moved our activities from the Botetar Learning Centre to Pancha Devi Basic School also located in Botetar. That school has 60 children attending from Grade 1 to 5 and our resources and learning materials will have increased impact in the school.
In June 2026 we welcomed Srijana Tamang
Welcome to our new facilitator Srijana Tamang, who joins us in June 2026 to support 30 children with before and after school learning activities at the Khahare Learning Centre in a hill village in the Bandipur region.
Deurali School in Bandipur
EYE Nepal has been supporting Deurali School in Bandipur for several years where we have funded the refurbishment of three classrooms and also installed a Teacher Training Centre for the region. When the parents asked us to fund an iron safety fence outside the early years classroom we were happy to assist!
Chamunda School - June 2026
In June 2026 a new early years classroom was installed at Chamunda School in Bandipur where 15 children aged from 3 – 5 will benefit from EYE Nepal books in Nepali, English and Math.
Padma School - June 2026
Padma School, located in the hills surrounding Bandipur, received a newly refurbished ECD classroom in June 2026 funded by the donors of EYE Nepal. The new installation was accompanied by training for the teachers on how to use the creative learning materials and the EYE Nepal books. The children loved exploring the new materials and having their own learning boxes.
Trustees visit in January 2026
Trustees witness transformative education work during Nepal visit in 2026. An intensive seven days were spent across the Sankhu and Bandipur districts, working closely with local teams and schools supported by EYE Nepal. Their visit centred around a series of vibrant Reading Festivals at Teacher Training Centres funded by EYE Nepal.

The trustee visit in January 2026 centred around a series of vibrant Reading Festivals at Teacher Training Centres funded by EYE Nepal. The festivals brought together Early Years teachers and students from participating schools in each region, creating a unique opportunity to celebrate literacy while showcasing educational progress.
EYE Nepal Bandipur District Co-ordinator
In 2026 introducing our EYE Nepal Bandipur District Co-ordinator Dipak Bishowkarma, who is employed by EYE Nepal to provide support to all 12 of our schools in the Bandipur area. He assists teachers and students in their classroom activities and oversees the Khahare Learning Centre every afternoon.
Forthcoming project for 2026
In October 2026, Contract Caterers Holroyd Howe will travel to Nepal to renovate a classroom at Shree Chamunda Basic School, a small primary school just outside Bandipur. Alongside this, the team will also refurbish the recently completed Jharagaun School in the Bandipur Valley, helping to set up Early Years and Grade 1 classrooms for around 30 children from the Gurung community.
These improvements aim to significantly enhance the learning environment, providing better facilities for both students and teachers and supporting a higher standard of school life.

Read, Write, Learn
In addition to the ECD manual and teacher training, today in 2026 we are in the process of a major roll out to all our schools of the latest workbooks from the EYE Nepal Read, Write, Learn series, along with additional new signage, storage equipment and furniture to enhance the classrooms.
This 2026 ECD initiative is a major investment for the Charity, which will provide a strong platform for best practice and consistency across our schools.

Shree Sankhu Basic School
Shree Sankhu Basic School revitalised through partnership with EYE Nepal. It was the first school that EYE Nepal partnered with when it began to operate in Nepal. Today in 2026 key improvements include the establishment of the Sankhu Teacher Training Center, which now hosts regular training and workshops for educators.
Thanks to EYE Nepal, students receive uniforms, supplies, and access to creative activities, helping improve both learning and wellbeing.

Early Years teacher instruction manual
Today in 2026, EYE Nepal have developed an Early Years teacher instruction manual setting out detailed Early Childhood Development (ECD) best practice guidance, standardised setups for the classrooms and sample lesson plans for teachers.

Throughout 2026, EYE Nepal has been implementing a comprehensive plan to further improve the quality and consistency of the ECD classroom teaching. ECD stands for Early Childhood Development, which refers to the physical, cognitive, linguistic, and socioemotional development of children from before birth until age eight.

A once-closed childcare facility in Khahare village, today in 2026 has been given a new lease of life, emerging as a thriving learning centre that is now shaping the educational future of dozens of local children.
Sankhu and Bandipur regions of Nepal
Since its establishment six years ago, today in 2026 EYE Nepal has grown from helping one small school in the Kathmandu Valley to supporting over 600 children in the Sankhu and Bandipur regions of Nepal. This journey began in 2022, when EYE Nepal stepped in with a comprehensive plan to restore and enhance the facilities and learning environment at Shree Sankhu Basic School.
Bandipur Teacher Training Centre
The Bandipur Teacher Training Centre, opened in October 2024, will provide invaluable support to all the teachers in the schools supported by EYE Nepal in the region.
The centre will be used for training sessions on creative learning with the EYE Nepal learning materials, assessment activities and provide opportunities for teachers to meet and share best practice.

Teacher training centre in Deurali
In October 2024 we open our first teacher training centre in Deurali in the region of Bandipur. The training centre provides a resource for early years teachers from ten local schools to support their teaching in the classroom. The training centre is ideally located in one of the schools we support in the Baratar municipality. This is the second teacher training centre operated by EYE Nepal, with the first being located in Sankhu, in the Kathmandu district.
Shree Mahendra Bal Basic School
Over 10 years have passed since UK Trustees, Mike Smith and Debra Adams first visited Shree Mahendra Bal Basic School in the Sankhu district, when they both took part in a Springboard charity visit and trek to raise funds for Hospitality Action along with 20 other participants from the hospitality industry. It was great to be back in 2024 with the EYE Nepal team and to witness the latest developments at the school which now has 6 classrooms refurbished and supported by EYE Nepal.
Botetar Learning Centre
The children and families from the Botetar Learning Centre in the Vyas region welcomed the UK trustees with a lovely presentation followed by readings, poetry, song and dancing. The Centre provides a cosy venue for children to gather before and after school to continue their learning supported by their EYE Nepal teacher, Sangita BK. This centre was kindly funded by donors from Bromsgrove School and Holroyd Howe.
Kahare Learning Centre
The children at the Kahare Learning Centre in the municipality of Bandipur, gave the UK trustees a very warm welcome when they visited in early October 2024. The centre has been open now for just over a year and was made possible by the amazing support from the Island Youth Projects team led by Paul Yearley. The centre is open and staffed by teachers from 6.00-8.00am and again from 6.00 – 8.00pm every school day providing an ideal venue for children to complete their school work and enjoy playing games together. All this has been made possible by the kindness of the team at Island Youth Projects.
Shree Bhanu School
The EYE Nepal team was delighted to complete the early years classrooms in the Tanahun region in October 2024 with a newly refurbished classroom in Shree Bhanu School in Bandipur. This much needed refurbishment provides a warm and welcoming environment for the youngest pupils in this school.
Arun School
EYE Nepal was delighted to open a refurbished early years classroom at Shree Arun School in Huslang in the municipality of Bandipur complete with new carpets, tables and chairs and plenty of learning materials and games for the children. This was all made possible by our amazing donors including the team and customers of the Fisheries, London.
Bhairab Basic School
Located in Aarthumka in the municipality of Bandipur, Bhairab Basic School is the smallest school supported by EYE Nepal with 15 pupils in total in early years education. The newly refurbished classroom was received with much excitement from the children, teachers and parents and was made possible by the kindness and generosity of our donors including the team and customers of the Northcote Hotel based in the Ribble Valley in the UK.
Kalika School
Located in the open countryside surrounding the hilltop town of Bandipur in the region of Kukurdi. This tiny school supports over 60 children from kindergarten through to grade 5 and we are so pleased to be able to support this school and its pupils with the opening of the early grade classroom in October 2024 complete with bright decorations, learning resources including books and creative games. The UK Trustees were warmly welcomed and enjoyed spending time with the teachers, pupils and parents.
