Trustees visit in January 2026
Trustees witness transformative education work during Nepal visit in 2026. An intensive seven days were spent across the Sankhu and Bandipur districts, working closely with local teams and schools supported by EYE Nepal. Their visit centred around a series of vibrant Reading Festivals at Teacher Training Centres funded by EYE Nepal.

Vibrant Reading Festivals
The trustee visit in January 2026 centred around a series of vibrant Reading Festivals at Teacher Training Centres funded by EYE Nepal. The festivals brought together Early Years teachers and students from participating schools in each region, creating a unique opportunity to celebrate literacy while showcasing educational progress.

EYE Nepal Bandipur District Co-ordinator
In 2026 introducing our EYE Nepal Bandipur District Co-ordinator Dipak Bishowkarma, who is employed by EYE Nepal to provide support to all 12 of our schools in the Bandipur area. He assists teachers and students in their classroom activities and oversees the Khahare Learning Centre every afternoon.

Forthcoming project for 2026
In October 2026, Contract Caterers Holroyd Howe will travel to Nepal to renovate a classroom at Shree Chamunda Basic School, a small primary school just outside Bandipur. Alongside this, the team will also refurbish the recently completed Jharagaun School in the Bandipur Valley, helping to set up Early Years and Grade 1 classrooms for around 30 children from the Gurung community.
These improvements aim to significantly enhance the learning environment, providing better facilities for both students and teachers and supporting a higher standard of school life.

Read, Write, Learn
In addition to the ECD manual and teacher training, today in 2026 we are in the process of a major roll out to all our schools of the latest workbooks from the EYE Nepal Read, Write, Learn series, along with additional new signage, storage equipment and furniture to enhance the classrooms.
This 2026 ECD initiative is a major investment for the Charity, which will provide a strong platform for best practice and consistency across our schools.

Shree Sankhu Basic School
Shree Sankhu Basic School revitalised through partnership with EYE Nepal. It was the first school that EYE Nepal partnered with when it began to operate in Nepal. Today in 2026 key improvements include the establishment of the Sankhu Teacher Training Center, which now hosts regular training and workshops for educators.
Thanks to EYE Nepal, students receive uniforms, supplies, and access to creative activities, helping improve both learning and wellbeing.

Early Years teacher instruction manual
Today in 2026, EYE Nepal have developed an Early Years teacher instruction manual setting out detailed Early Childhood Development (ECD) best practice guidance, standardised setups for the classrooms and sample lesson plans for teachers.

Early Childhood Development classroom teaching
Throughout 2026, EYE Nepal has been implementing a comprehensive plan to further improve the quality and consistency of the ECD classroom teaching. ECD stands for Early Childhood Development, which refers to the physical, cognitive, linguistic, and socioemotional development of children from before birth until age eight.

Khahare village
A once-closed childcare facility in Khahare village, today in 2026 has been given a new lease of life, emerging as a thriving learning centre that is now shaping the educational future of dozens of local children.
