Bandipur Teacher Training Centre
The Bandipur Teacher Training Centre, opened in October 2024, will provide invaluable support to all the teachers in the schools supported by EYE Nepal in the region.
The centre will be used for training sessions on creative learning with the EYE Nepal learning materials, assessment activities and provide opportunities for teachers to meet and share best practice.

Teacher training centre in Deurali
In October 2024 we open our first teacher training centre in Deurali in the region of Bandipur. The training centre provides a resource for early years teachers from ten local schools to support their teaching in the classroom. The training centre is ideally located in one of the schools we support in the Baratar municipality. This is the second teacher training centre operated by EYE Nepal, with the first being located in Sankhu, in the Kathmandu district.
Shree Mahendra Bal Basic School
Over 10 years have passed since UK Trustees, Mike Smith and Debra Adams first visited Shree Mahendra Bal Basic School in the Sankhu district, when they both took part in a Springboard charity visit and trek to raise funds for Hospitality Action along with 20 other participants from the hospitality industry. It was great to be back in 2024 with the EYE Nepal team and to witness the latest developments at the school which now has 6 classrooms refurbished and supported by EYE Nepal.
Botetar Learning Centre
The children and families from the Botetar Learning Centre in the Vyas region welcomed the UK trustees with a lovely presentation followed by readings, poetry, song and dancing. The Centre provides a cosy venue for children to gather before and after school to continue their learning supported by their EYE Nepal teacher, Sangita BK. This centre was kindly funded by donors from Bromsgrove School and Holroyd Howe.
Kahare Learning Centre
The children at the Kahare Learning Centre in the municipality of Bandipur, gave the UK trustees a very warm welcome when they visited in early October 2024. The centre has been open now for just over a year and was made possible by the amazing support from the Island Youth Projects team led by Paul Yearley. The centre is open and staffed by teachers from 6.00-8.00am and again from 6.00 – 8.00pm every school day providing an ideal venue for children to complete their school work and enjoy playing games together. All this has been made possible by the kindness of the team at Island Youth Projects.
Shree Bhanu School
The EYE Nepal team was delighted to complete the early years classrooms in the Tanahun region in October 2024 with a newly refurbished classroom in Shree Bhanu School in Bandipur. This much needed refurbishment provides a warm and welcoming environment for the youngest pupils in this school.
Arun School
EYE Nepal was delighted to open a refurbished early years classroom at Shree Arun School in Huslang in the municipality of Bandipur complete with new carpets, tables and chairs and plenty of learning materials and games for the children. This was all made possible by our amazing donors including the team and customers of the Fisheries, London.
Bhairab Basic School
Located in Aarthumka in the municipality of Bandipur, Bhairab Basic School is the smallest school supported by EYE Nepal with 15 pupils in total in early years education. The newly refurbished classroom was received with much excitement from the children, teachers and parents and was made possible by the kindness and generosity of our donors including the team and customers of the Northcote Hotel based in the Ribble Valley in the UK.
Kalika School
Located in the open countryside surrounding the hilltop town of Bandipur in the region of Kukurdi. This tiny school supports over 60 children from kindergarten through to grade 5 and we are so pleased to be able to support this school and its pupils with the opening of the early grade classroom in October 2024 complete with bright decorations, learning resources including books and creative games. The UK Trustees were warmly welcomed and enjoyed spending time with the teachers, pupils and parents.
Hiuchili School
Located in Dhaap in the municipality of Bandipur, Hiuchili School is one of the smallest schools supported by EYE Nepal with just 2 classrooms and 18 pupils, all at kindergarten level. These pupils now have a fully equipped classroom with bright decorations, learning resources including books and creative games, ensuring that the young families in this remote region will gain the best possible start for their children. Shanti School
The pupils at Shanti School located in Parche in the hills surrounding Bandipur town thoroughly enjoyed the official opening of their new early years classroom providing a safe haven for creative learning with EYE Nepal books and educational games. Following the official opening there was time for ball games and a skipping competition! Thank you so much for the kindness and generosity of our donors including the team at Holroyd Howe.
Shree Tribhuwan Basic School
Established in 1973 in Bahunbhanjyang, Shree Tribhuwan Basic School has almost 40 pupils from grades kindergarten to grade 5. The pupils walk several kilometres every day to reach the school which is located in a remote spot perched on the hillside below Bandipur town. Following the official opening of the new ECD classroom the UK trustees and the EYE Nepal team joined the teachers and pupils for reading, puzzles and ball games. AFTER: Khahare Learning Centre April 2023
In 2023 the team at Island Youth Projects partnered with EYE Nepal to actively be involved to create an after-school learning centre in a village close to Bandipur. In addition to fund raising, volunteers from IYP travelled to Nepal to assist in the development project. The learning centre, which was completed in April 2023, is open after school and during holiday times to support the children in the remote village of Khahare. The centre will also provide additional community based educational support for local children and their families.
October 2022 The opening of the Botetar After School Club
The UK Trustees were delighted to visit the opening of the Botetar Learning Centre and join with the families of the village to celebrate in the Centre with speeches followed by singing and dancing. The Centre was funded by our amazing donors.
